The Shawna E. Shea Memorial Foundation began with a single, powerful commitment: to support young people through the Shawna E. Shea Memorial Scholarship, our very first program. That initial investment in students with average grades and big dreams and  creative potential continues to guide everything we do.

 

Over time, that commitment has grown into a broader ecosystem of programs designed to support artists, amplify underrepresented voices, and expand access to the arts across disciplines and generations. While our work has evolved, our purpose remains the same: to create meaningful opportunities for creative expression and to honor the belief that art changes lives.

 

Today, our programs extend beyond scholarships to include our Women in Film Fellowship, art installations and exhibits, special screenings, and poetry readings. Together, these initiatives reflect a holistic approach to supporting the arts and culture—one that nurtures emerging talent, celebrates independent and established voices, and builds community through shared creative experience.Whether on the screen, the page, or the wall, our programs carry forward the spirit in which the Shawna Foundation was built: rooted in access, driven by creativity, and committed to the future of the arts.
